Pizza chain provides “design your own” option with online ordering

Pizza lovers can design their own pizzas, adding and removing toppings, sauces and condiments, under a new online ordering system by Eagle Boys Pizza, one of Australia’s largest pizza franchises.
An increased desire for convenience over the past decade, in particular, has assisted with the growth of online services and internet ordering is now steadily becoming more popular. In the case of the new Eagle Boys system – customers can order up to 14 days in advance. It also taps into the trend toward greater consumer control, whereby the customer can exert greater influence on the product they purchase rather than just accepting what is on the menu.
Eagle Boys Pizza Managing Director, Todd Clayton, said online orders were growing rapidly because of the high penetration of home internet and customers wanting to design their own pizzas. He said tough economic times were also increasing online pizza orders as families shopped around for the best deal.
“Weekly store sales of online ordering have increased by 23% since the beginning of the year as more people discover online ordering,” he noted, with the new system set to ensure this growth continues.
