Go Grains appoints food-industry alum GM
Go Grains has appointed Robyn Murray, formerly of Sara Lee, Campbell, Arnott’s and Kellogg’s, as its new General Manager.
The group, established by the Federal Government’s Grains Research and Develepment Corporation and BRI Australia (formerly the Bread Research Institute of Australia) is described as an opportunity to “make scientifically based information about grains, legumes and health available in the public domain to help combat the ever-increasing volume of material that aims to discourage consumption of grains-based foods.”
Murray describes herself as a ‘passionate foodie’ with strong corporate R&D experience in the Asia Pacific region, including roles as Technical Innovations Manager (Marketing) at Sara Lee; Director, Corporate R&D Asia Pacific, at Campbell Arnott’s (where she was responsible for establishing the Campbell Arnott’s Consumer Culinary and Nutrition Centre); and Director, Product Development, at Arnott’s Biscuits. Murray holds a Master of Commerce and a Bachelor of Science (Food Technology).
Go Grains Health & Nutrition Chair Dr Michele Allan said the appointment placed Go Grains in an excellent position to continue its work gathering evidence about the benefits of grains and legumes in a healthy diet.
“Robyn has a valuable mix of strategic and operational skills with a proven track-record in creating sound business strategies and empowering teams to deliver great results,” Allan said.
“I have complete confidence that along with the Go Grains’ team, Robyn will do an
outstanding job as we move to expand our industry relationships, further support our members, and ultimately increase the value of grains and legumes in the Australian diet.”
Outgoing Executive Manager Trish Griffiths will retire after twelve years with Go Grains and BRI Australia, having been described as the ‘driving force’ behind Go Grains.
