RSPCA Good Egg awards – nominations closing soon
- September 28, 2010
Nominations are closing at the end of September for the RSPCA’s Good Egg Awards, which celebrates medium- to large-scale organisations in the food service, hospitality, manufacturing or supermarket sector who have switched, or are planning to switch, to cage-free egg products.
The Good Egg Award began in the UK, with international award winners including McDonalds UK, Subway, Starbucks Coffee, Unilever’s Hellmann’s Mayonnaise, Microsoft, Google and Sainsburys supermarkets.
Retailers may receive a commendation if own-brand or private-label products make a move to cage-free eggs by 2012, and the RSPCA will work with winners on joint media and marketing opportunities.
Organisations wishing to register their interest in a Good Egg award can apply with a letter from the Board or CEO stating egg-sourcing policy or committment, egg supply audit methods and the number of eggs used per year.
