CEO resigns from Beef Australia Expo

Beef Australia CEO Roger Desailly has decided not to renew his contract to manage the cattle industry exposition in 2015, despite the organisation’s 2012 event being the most successful in 24 years.

A record 85,000 people attended the Beef Australia Expo at the Rockhampton Showgrounds in Central Queensland earlier this month, making it one of the world’s greatest cattle events. Nearly 4500 cattle were showcased to both the national and global industry.

The event’s theme “Innovation, Collaboration, Inspiration, Celebration” addressed all facets of the beef industry and created export opportunities by introducing local suppliers to international leaders.

Mr Desailly’s decision contradicts his stance immediately following the event, when he intended to continue in the role. Careful consideration of his family, personal and professional situation, and the travel commitments necessary to planning and delivering Beef Australia 2015, prompted his decision.
