New gluten-free products launched in Australia

Two different gluten-free bakery products have been launched this week by different food companies in Australia.
More gluten-free cookies
Popular New Zealand snack foods brand Cookie Time is due to launch its first gluten-free biscuit into the Australian market next week.
The Cookie Time Gluten-free Chocolate Chunk Cookie is a gluten and wheat free version of Cookie Time’s Original Chocolate Chunk Cookie, which will be available in Woolworths stores throughout Australia, from 9 July
The Gluten-free cookie licensing deal is the second major Australian licensing arrangement for Cookie Time Limited this year. In January, as Australian Food News reported, Cookie Time’s world-first One Square Meal bars were launched into Coles and Woolworths supermarkets in a major licensing deal with Sanitarium.
Gluten Free Grain Free Bread Mix launched
For consumers who want to bake their own gluten-free items at home, Gluten Free Grain Free Company, based in Nambour on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, has just released a “bake@home range”, which is claimed to be “Australia’s first gluten and grain free bread mix”.
Owner of Gluten Free Grain Free Company and co-founder of the award-winning Husk & Honey Café Tania Hubbard said, “All our products are tried and tested in the café over three years. They are free of yeast and dairy, have nothing artificial and are packed with natural nutrient-rich, wholesome ingredients that taste great,” Ms Hubbard said.
The bread mix produces a loaf with a similar consistency to sour dough. “All you need is a bowl, a whisk, and a regular oven,” she said.
Last year, Ms Hubbard launched a cookbook called ‘Gluten Free Grain Free Food We Love’ which increased the popularity of the bake@home range.
The bake@home range is available online at the Gluten Free Grain Free website, or at Husk & Honey Café. The Gluten Free Grain Free Company has plans for Australia-wide distribution in the near future.
