Kellogg launches Special K Nourish in Australia
Cereal manufacturer Kellogg has launched a new variety, Special K Nourish, in its iconic breakfast brand Special K.
Kellogg said the new variety contains ‘superfoods’ such as oats, quinoa, pepita seeds and cranberries.
The new Special K Nourish variety follows the release in February 2014 of a new three-grain Special K variety.
Now with a blend of ingredients including nutrient-rich multigrain flakes, fruits, seeds, nuts and crunchy oat, quinoa and rye clusters, Special K Nourish is a wholesome cereal option which is high in fibre, and contains whole grains and protein, with the goodness of seven essential vitamins and minerals such as iron.
“Special K has changed. It’s taking a new, healthier direction in 2014 and the launch of Special K Nourish is the next significant step,” said Kate Harris, Senior Brand Manager for Special K. “After revamping the Special K flake recipe, we wanted to create some even more nutritious options for Aussie women who we know are looking for quick, great tasting breakfast options which help them feel good about their choices and maintain a healthy lifestyle,” she said.
Karen Martini, chef and judge on TV show My Kitchen Rules, has partnered with Special K on this latest breakfast innovation and has created six new home-cooked recipes inspired by some of the individual nourishing ingredients in Special K Nourish.
“As a mother and a chef, I believe it’s essential to use honest, humble and healthy ingredients,” Ms Martini said. “Simple is often best and I’m excited that the new Special K range now includes the ancient grain quinoa – which was once worshipped by the Aztecs for its protein content – nutritious pumpkin seeds, and tasty fruit pieces. It’s important to start the day on the right foot, and the launch of Special K Nourish makes my food choices at breakfast a lot easier,” she said.
Breakfast lovers can choose from three delicious flavours: Special K Nourish Blackcurrant, Apple & Pepita; Special K Nourish Wildberry, Raisin & Pepita; and Special K Nourish Apricot, Cranberry & Almond.
Special K Nourish is available from Coles and Woolworths supermarkets, as well as leading independent supermarkets nationwide for RRP $5.99.
