Former Woolworths CEO Roger Corbett to end consulting to Woolworths
Former Woolworths Chief Executive Officer, Roger Corbett, will be leaving his role as a consultant to the supermarket group to focus on his position as chairman at pharmaceutical company, Mayne Pharma.
Corbett was CEO of Woolworths Limited between January 1999 and September 2006. Since November 2015, he has been working as an advisor to the Woolworths board.
At the time of his appointment as an advisor, Woolworths said Corbett was brought on to advise its Board on issues relating to performance, improvement opportunities and to be a mentor to senior management.
Corbett’s decision to leave Woolworths comes at the same time Mayne Pharma announced it will be acquiring at least 37 products from pharmaceutical companies Teva and Allergan. The acquisitions will cost Mayne Pharma US $652 million.
Corbett is expected to officially leave his role at Woolworths by the end of July 2016.
