Doritos and Pizza Hut partner up for new corn chip variety
Doritos and Pizza Hut are releasing a BBQ Meatlovers flavoured Dorito chip variety in Australia.
The new Dorito is inspired by Pizza Hut’s BBQ Meatlovers Pizza and tastes of bacon, smoked ham, pepperoni, Italian sausage, beef, mozzarella and BBQ sauce.
It is not the first time the two brands have worked together. In 2014, Pizza Hut stores in Australia sold Dorito stuffed pizza crust.
Senior Marketing Manager at Doritos, Sheri Juchau, described the flavour combination as bold as it is tasty.
“It takes snacking to a new level that will excite consumers and unleash brand and category growth,” Juchau said.
The chips will be available in 80g and 150g packet sizes. The 150g pack will originally only be sold through Woolworths supermarkets and Pizza Hut stores before being expanded to other outlets. The 80g serving will first be available at Woolworths Petrol outlets before being rolled out to other retailers. Both serving sizes will be available from these outlets from 12 July 2016.
The launch of the chips will be supported with a range of digital and social marketing activities along with catalogue and in-store promotion.
