FoodLegal announces food marketing compliance workshops
FoodLegal will be running two half-day workshops on food marketing in Melbourne and Sydney on Wednesday 15 March 2017 and Thursday 23 March 2017 respectively.
The “Sign-off and Take-off” workshops will address marketing compliance issues, laws and common blunders that arise under the Australian Consumer Law.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has recently been targeting health claims made by food products. Action may be taken even if the product is completely compliant with the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.
Such action was recently taken against Heinz and Unilever.
Presented by FoodLegal compliance expert Charles Fisher, the workshops will help food companies identify risks and opportunities in their marketing, and will provide lessons on how to stand out while minimising the danger of regulatory action.
Country of origin update
The workshops will also feature an update on Australia’s newly enacted Country of Origin Labelling laws, and will address tricky issues such as substantial transformation and priority foods.
