Closing of Campbell Arnott’s factory leaves 40 jobless

Snackfood company Real McCoy announced yesterday that around 40 people would be made redundant at their factory in Shepparton. Campbell Arnott’s, which sold their snacks division to Real McCoy last year, still manufactured the product after the takeover. The production line is due to shut-down by the end of next month, leaving around 40 workers without a job. “Solid growth” at Arnott’s helps Campbell beat expectations

Campbell Soup Company, the world’s largest soup producer and owner of Arnott’s biscuits, has raised its profit forecast for the current year despite reporting an even bigger sales decline of 10% in the third quarter, up from a decline of 4% in the second quarter. Doughnut maker Krispy Kreme has agreed to banish the name Iced Dough-Vo from their new ‘Australiana’ range from May 11 after being threatened with legal action by Arnott’s. A letter was sent by lawyers on behalf of Arnott’s to Krispy Kreme last week requesting the US-owned chain stop selling their Iced Dough-Vo offering due to claims it violated their Iced Vo-Vo trademark – which they first registered in 1906. Arnott’s, Australia’s largest biscuit supplier, is threatening legal action against donut chain Krispy Kreme for alleged violation of their “Iced Vo-Vo” trademark – which they first registered in 1906. Arnott’s invests $37 million on upgrade to further international expansion efforts

Biscuit manufacturer Arnott’s has announced a $37 million capital investment in a new, state-of-the-art biscuit production line to help boost the Virginia bakery’s capacity by 10,000 tonnes per annum. Campbell’s have agreed to sell to a group of Australian investors which include members of the management team at Australian snack foods company The Real McCoy.
