Kirin Holdings cuts H1 profits, sales forecast

Kirin Holdings has cut its sales and profits forecast for the first half of 2010. Kirin expects net sales to be JPY43bn (US$492m) for the six months to the end of June, 14% lower than previously predicted, the Japanese drinks giant said today (26 July). Kirin shakes up management team

Japanese food and drink group Kirin Holdings has shuffled its management pack as the company looks to push on with plans to drive earnings. Kirin, which owns Australia’s Dairy Farmers and National Foods, said today (10 February) that executive vice president Senji Miyake would become president and CEO from next month. Heineken to purchase FEMSA Cerveza for US$5.5bn

Dutch brewer Heineken is set to expand their global operations with the purchase of one of the largest beer businesses in Latin America. The company will buy the beer division of Mexico-based Fomento Económico Mexicano, S.A.B. de C.V (FEMSA) for €3.8 billion (USD5.5 billion). Coopers sees beer sales climb to record high

Independent South Australian-based brewer Coopers has reported “exceptional growth” in interstate sales over the second half of calendar year 2009, leading to a record result for the year. And the company is confident momentum will continue into the new year, predicting sales will top 60 million litres for the first time. Sales rise at Coopers as beer demand fails to wane

South Australian brewer, Coopers Brewery, has announced sales growth of 5 per cent in the 2008-09 financial year, bringing turnover to $169 million. Profit after tax also rose, albeit by a small margin, to $20.3 million from $20.2 million the previous year.
