He was previously Managing Director with Capilano Honey, a position he held for sixteen years until 2012. Buderim Ginger forecasts $3.6 million in losses

Queensland-based ginger, fruit and nut manufacturer Buderim Ginger has estimated its expected losses for 2010 at $3.6 million, hurt by the strong Australian dollar, drought conditions in its Hawaiian macadamia plantations, and slow-moving products. Australian premium food producer, Buderim Ginger, has advised that trading results for the half year just completed will come in below expectations. Accounts for the half-year to 30 June 2009 are not yet complete but the Group expects operating profit to fall to a breakeven figure from $1.2 million in the same period last year. Allergy-free ginger products on the horizon

Buderim Ginger has been awarded $245,100 to create an allergy-free ginger product, Queensland’s Industry Minister, Desley Boyle, announced this week.The funding, from the State Government’s Business and Industry Transformation Incentives (BITI) scheme, will go towards the development of a new processing system that eliminates the need to use sulphites as a preservative.
