The Campbell Soup Company has reported profit growth of 17 per cent in the first quarter of Fiscal 2010 despite a two per cent drop in sales. Campbell Soup Company announced overnight that its President and Chief Executive Officer, Douglas Conant, was injured in an automobile accident in New Jersey last Thursday. Mr Conant, the head of the world’s largest manufacturer of soup and Arnott’s owner, was a passenger in the back seat of a vehicle, on his way home from Campbell’s headquarters.
