Not just coffee, Starbucks introduces beer and wine selectively into its US stores

The world’s largest coffee chain, Starbucks Coffee Company, announced today plans to introduce wine, beer and “premium food” to a handful of its stores in the United States by the end of 2012. Starbucks stores in Atlanta, California and Chicago, have been “carefully selected” in response to “customer feedback for more options to relax in the evenings” for the new menu additions. Subway introduces kilojoule count to its menus

Subway has announced that, from today, its Australian stores will display the kilojoule content of food products on their menu boards. Subway is the latest of several major quick service food chains in Australia to make this move. Other include Hungry Jacks, Domino’s, and McDonald’s. Victorian menus to carry nutritional info

Victorian fast-food and chain food businesses will be required to put nutritional information on their menus by 2012. Aldi maintains top spot in satisfaction rankings among consumers

German discount supermarket chain Aldi has once again topped Australian consumer satisfaction rankings for supermarkets during the month of October 2009 according to an independent survey released today. A recent Roy Morgan Supermarket Satisfaction Report shows that supermarket chain, Aldi, gained a 2.2% point increase from last month, equating to a satisfaction of 9 out of 10 customers for a total rating of 91.0% satisfaction.
