Paris Creek recalls Listeria contaminated cheese

Cheese and dairy manufacturer B.-d. Farm Paris Creek is conducting a recall of its Paris Creek Tilsit, Cheddar, Gouda and Norwegino cheeses due to microbial contamination with the food pathogen Listeria monocytogenes. The South Australian manufacturer is recalling cheeses with use-by dates from 18/10/10, up to and including 26/01/11, in 200g prepackaged sizes from major supermarkets, and all wheel sizes from delicatessens and restaurants. Maggie Beer Products announced yesterday that they are conducting a consumer level recall of 500ml pouches of Maggie Beer Chicken Stock with a Best Before date of June 3rd due to the presence of food poisoning bacterium Clostridium perfringens. While no cases of illness or injury have been associated with this product, any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice. Madelaine Confectionery Pty Ltd is conducting a consumer level recall on three of its Gummy products – Baby Crocodiles, Day Old Chicks and Coral Fish – due to possible contamination with metal pieces. The recall applies to 140g jars with a best before date of 10/04/12, across Australia. Hidden cameras show poor food safety

A study from North Carolina State University has revealed that, even in kitchens that believe they are operating well, food safety violations are commonplace. The study, published in the Journal of Food Protection, placed cameras in unobtrusive spots in eight volunteer commercial kitchens. McDonalds recalls cadmium-contaminated promotional glasses

McDonalds has recalled 12 million promotional drinking glasses across the United States after the US Consumer Product Safety Commission warned consumers that the glasses contained cadmium, a toxic heavy metal, and recommended they be disposed of immediately.
