Coles satisfaction improves, but Aldi stays on top

The latest Roy Morgan Supermarket Satifaction Report reveals Aldi still on top in the customer satisfaction stakes, with 91.4% surveyed as satisfied, despite a slight downturn from last month. Coles was the only supermarket to show improvement in the January survey, with IGA taking the biggest hit, dropping nearly 2% to 85% from December. The latest Roy Morgan Supermarket Satisfaction Report has German-owned discount grocer comfortably ahead of their closest supermarket rival in the consumer satisfaction stakes. Changes are afoot at Australia’s two largest supermarket chains as they seek to upgrade their supermarket outlets, which were recently labelled as “backward” by a senior Coles figure. New customer satisfaction data released by Roy Morgan last week has seen Aldi retain their lead in the approval stakes, however Coles has now surged past IGA and Woolworths. The release, related to the month of May, showed customer affection for Aldi and Coles had risen from April levels while IGA and Woolworths both recorded declines.
