A report commissioned by the Australian Government has found that its own alcohol guidelines are considered “unrealistic” and “confusing”. The Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education (FARE), has called for a ban on the sale of premixed alcohol and energy drink (AED) products in Australia. The High Court of Australia has ordered Lion Nathan National Foods to scrap the word ‘Barefoot’ on its Barefoot Radler beer range, after losing a trademark case against US wine giant E. & J. Brazilian orange juice manufacturers Citrosuco and Citrovita announced earlier this week their plans to merge to form the biggest orange juice producer in the world with sales exceeding two billion reais ($A1.23 billion). Chief Executive of Citrosuco Tales Lemos Cubero told Estado news agency that after the merge, the new company will have the capacity to produce 25 per cent of all orange juice in the world. A new survey of 1,800 chefs has discovered that ‘beer sommeliers’ will represent one of the hottest trends in drinks at restaurants next year.
