The Fair Work Ombudsman will prosecute the operators of an Eagle Boys pizza outlet in regional New South Wales for allegedly paying its employees just AU$9 an hour. Facing court is Stacborn Pty Ltd, which runs an Eagle Boys franchise at Cessnock. Fair Work Ombudsman targets Canberra restaurants

Fair Work inspectors will audit up to 100 Canberra restaurants between now and February, 2012, as part of a new Australian Government education and compliance campaign. NSW abbatoir Ramsey Food Processing will be prosecuted for alleged underpayments, totalling more than $60,000, for workers laid off in 2008. Melbourne food business cops $54,000 fine for underpayments

The operators of a Melbourne food company have been fined a total of $54,000 for underpaying a delivery truck driver more than $32,000. The penalties are the result of a prosecution by the Fair Work Ombudsman in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court. Magistrate Franz Holzer imposed a fine of $37,000 against Olara Pty Ltd and $2000 against Exofun Pty Ltd.
