Australians support nutritional information displays at fast food restaurants, Nielsen survey

A new report just released by Nielsen, a global information and measurement company, claims that Australians generally support requirements for fast food restaurants to display nutritional information.  The Nielsen Global Survey was conducted in March/April 2011 and in August/September 2011 and polled more than 25,000 consumers in 56 countries throughout Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and North America. Fast Food education campaign launched by NSW Food Authority

On 1 March 2012 the NSW Minister for Primary Industries, Katrina Hodgkinson launched a new education campaign which aims to encourage consumers to make informed choices about fast and ready-to-go food. Global momentum drives strong Q4 results for Domino’s

The number of Australians who visit cafés for a quick caffeine fix is on the rise, whereas visiting a local pub to enjoy a drink is becoming less popular over time, according to new research by Australian research company Roy Morgan Research. Subway introduces kilojoule count to its menus

Subway has announced that, from today, its Australian stores will display the kilojoule content of food products on their menu boards. McDonald’s Australia has boasted its healthier food credentials by announcing that from tomorrow its customers will be asked if they would like salad as an alternative to fries.
