Food Authority confirms finding of faecal matter in hotel’s ice cream

The issue of food safety has reared its head again following the much-publicised finding of faeces in a dessert at a Sydney hotel. The food sample supplied by the family involved in the Coogee Bay Hotel ice cream complaint has tested positive for faecal matter, NSW Primary Industries Minister, Ian Macdonald, said yesterday. Ice cream from breast milk? PETA’s new campaign urges switch from cow to human milk

Activist group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has begun an unusual, some may even say bold, campaign to get cow’s milk replaced with human breast milk. Ice cream still a favourite but consumers warm to healthy alternatives

Ice cream remains a favourite cool treat amongst consumers despite increased competition from products like frozen yoghurt. According to new consumer research from Mintel, nine in ten Americans (89%) enjoyed a cool, creamy scoop in the past year. NestlĂ© Australia Ltd has announced it has sold its yoghurt and dairy dessert business, including its Echuca factory, to Fonterra. Cadbury to produce Dairy Milk and Flake ice-cream tubs

Cadbury, with the help of UK manufacturers Frederick’s Dairies, are set to introduce two new ice-creams to supermarkets in the UK. The flavours are based on two of the company’s most popular brands; Flake and Dairy Milk.
