One of Australia’s largest poultry producers, Turi Foods, has been ordered by the Federal Court of Australia, to pay AU$100,000 penalty after admitting to a misleading claim. Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has announced the recall of ‘Good Luck Dried Seaweed Stripe’ following concerns over high levels of naturally occurring iodine in a batch of the product. Obese people may regain weight after dieting due to hormonal changes, a University of Melbourne and Austin Health study has shown. The study, which was undertaken in collaboration with La Trobe University, in Melbourne, was published in the New England Journal of Medicine today.
