Kraft Foods Australia has been pleased with the market take up of  its belVita Breakfast biscuits.  Launched in March 2012, research conducted in June 2012 by AC Nielsen Homescan showed market penetration of 10.9% (or more than one in ten) Australian households having tried the product. Government criticised over handout to Singaporean almond giant

The Victorian State Government has been heavily criticised for offering a grant to Singapore-based Olam International Limited for helping build its proposed “state-of-the-art” almond processing plant in Victoria. Australia’s macadamia industry access to Indian market

The Federal Government has announced successful trade negotiations with India will enhance the export of macadamia nuts to the sub-continent. Concluded negotiations with India’s quarantine authorities will allow Australian macadamia nuts to be exported to India without fumigation previously required. Ongoing consultation with the Australian macadamia industry will allow heat treatment as an alternative to fumigation.
