Fresh bid for Foster’s expected from SABMiller

London-based SABMiller is expected to offer a renewed bid to acquire all shares in Foster’s Group Limited after the Australian brewer releases its full year results on 23 August 2011. In June, Foster’s rejected SABMiller’s A$11.2bn bid to buy all shares in the company. The Board of Foster’s said the proposal “significantly undervalued the company”. SABMiller launches a new beer brand in the UK

SABMiller on Monday announced the introduction of a new beer to the portfolio of Miller Brands, its UK operation. The beer, Kozel, is a 4% ABV Czech lager which is brewed in the village of Velke Popovice, near Prague.Kozel will be launched in draught format with a managed pub operator in 100 selected sites starting from the end of September. SABMiller announced yesterday that its Ghanaian subsidiary, Accra Brewery Limited (ABL), will table a resolution at its AGM to be held on September 8, 2010, to seek a de-listing from the Ghana Stock Exchange.  SABMiller said that ABL has faced difficult market conditions over the past few years, and that a stock exchange de-listing will enable it to implement a business recovery programme. First beer rolls off the new Bluetongue line

Model and TV presenter Jennifer Hawkins and entrepreneur John Singleton today toasted the first Bluetongue Premium Lager to roll off the production line at the new $120 million Pacific Beverages-owned brewery on the Central Coast today.
