National Foods today announced it intends to phase out production at its Riverland juice manufacturing site by the end of the current financial year. Nat Foods cuts jobs after vandalism

National Foods has announced 57 redundancies in the wake of a review of operations at their Berri juice factory in South Australia. The review followed a vandalism attack last month. Vandals last month caused a temporary closure of the Riverland plant and left a damage bill of around $500,000. And now almost half the workforce will depart after the company decided to not resume production of long-life juice. The Berri juice factory is back in operation after vandals caused a temporary closure of the plant last week. National Foods has reported the damage bill left by vandals - who smashed computers and emptied containers full of thousands of litres of juice - stood at around half-a-million dollars.
