Independent Distillers recruits Fosters trio for Asahi Super Dry brand
Three senior managers previously working for Fosters will head up the new team for the ales, marketing and distribution of Asahi Super Dry, one of the world’s most sought- after premium beers.
Earlier this month, following the takeover of Foster’s Group by South African-based brewing group SAB Miller, Japanese company Asahi Group announced it was ending arrangements under which Foster’s Group handled the sales, marketing and distribution of Asahi Super Dry. From 2 April 2012, the brand will be managed by Asahi Premium Beverages, a sales division of Independent Distillers which was purchased by Asahi Group in September 2011.
Independent Distillers’ Chief Executive, Greg Ellery, said Asahi Premium Beverages will build stock and would be ready to meet increased orders immediately. More than 20 staff will be recruited to the division.
The new general manager of Asahi Premium Beverages is Andrew Amarant, who spent five years at Foster’s Group as a senior retail manager, including specialist roles in the beer installation team, promotions, merchandising and events.
National sales will be headed by Matt Grix, who has more than 20 years’ experience at Foster’s Group, including Sales Manager inVictoriaas well as national and interstate experience.
The senior sponsorship and brand management roles will be headed by Ms Sarah Campbell, who worked at Foster’s Group in brand marketing, including with the Asahi brand and other imported beers.
