Many Australians must choose between keeping warm or eating during winter says the key organisation responsible for providing a warehouse food pantry for Victoria’s welfare organisers.

With high electricity bills having to be paid, FoodBank Victoria says many simply cannot afford to buy food.

FoodBank  Victoria wants to give these people a chance to be both warm and feed this winter by having launched its “Warm Up this Winter” campaign.

The charity is asking for financial donations saying one dollar can allow it to distribute $9 dollars worth of food to those who need it.

The organisation says that two million people in Australia each year will need food donations,  half of these people are children.

FoodBank Victoria also says that 2.2 million Australians are currently living in poverty and that 105, 000 are homeless.

You can donate money to FoodBank Victoria via their website.

Food can also be donated by both the general public and businesses. Please also visit the FoodBank Victoria website for contact details.
