Mars launches banana flavoured M&M’s into Australia

9734170Mars has launched banana flavoured M&M’s into the Australian market.

 

The new M&M variation features yellow and brown coloured M&M’s along with banana flavouring.

 

M&M’s Banana flavour will join pre-existing varieties available in Australian supermarkets including milk chocolate, peanut and crispy.

 

Since M&M’s first entered the Australian market in the 1980s Mars have introduced a number of unique and often limited-time varieties including Pink & White coloured M&M’s for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in 2011.

 

According to Nielsen figures listed in Retail World’s December 2014 annual report, M&M’s have 10.2 per cent volume share of the Australian confectionery sugar grocery market. Nestle’s Allen’s lead the segment with a 19.6 per cent share followed by the Natural Confectionary Company with 14.2 per cent, Pascall have 11 percent, Starburst 7.6 per cent, Cadbury 2.2 per cent, Skittles 0.9 per cent, Kit Kat 0.1 per cent, while private label products take up the remaining 16.9 per cent of the segment.

 

M&M’s Banana flavour is available for purchase now from Woolworths for $4.25 for a 200g bag.
