McCain adds the sizzle back into mealtimes at home
The humble snag. Previously taken for granted, the crowd-pleasing, mouth-watering snack has been mourned by Australians around the country since social distancing restrictions prevented the beloved fundraising sausage sizzle. But fear not, Aussies can now sink their teeth back into the cultural staple at home with the new Sausage Sizzle Family pizza from McCain.
Inspired by a favourite weekend pastime and the all too familiar smell of sausages and onions on the grill, the newest pizza innovation from McCain will bring the sizzle to pizza night.
Topped with pork sausage, diced onions, and a rich tomato and BBQ sauce, the Australian made pizza combines all the ingredients of the iconic meal on a classic McCain pizza crust.
McCain Foods Brand Manager for Pizza, Alice Briant, said this new flavour will delight current pizza shoppers and create the opportunity to recruit new shoppers to the frozen pizza category.
“In this current climate shoppers are embracing life at home more than ever and are looking for ways to be inspired with new and interesting flavours. The Sausage Sizzle Family Pizza brings a cultural favourite to the home for families to enjoy together around the dinner table,” Ms Briant said.
“Australian consumers are placing a greater importance on supporting local, seeking products which are Australian-made and supporting Australian jobs. This new product is proudly doing so – supporting our people and partners across the supply chain.”
“Research has also shown that shoppers are seeking well-known and trusted brands in these times of uncertainty, and it’s wonderful to be able to recreate a quintessential Aussie favourite. What’s more Australian than a snag on the barbie?” Ms Briant said.
Cooked in only 10 minutes, families can be enjoying their piping hot Sausage Sizzle Pizza faster than a drive to their nearest hardware store.
McCain Sausage Sizzle Family Pizzas are available in the frozen pizza aisle at Woolworths stores across Australia for $7.00.
