Woolworths appoints new Managing Director for drinks business

Steve Donohue, the new Managing Director of Endeavour Drinks
The Woolworths Group has appointed a new Managing Director for its drinks business.
From April 2018, Steve Donohue will take over the role of Managing Director of Endeavour Drinks, replacing Martin Smith who will retire 30 June 2018.
Donohue is the current Director of Buying and Merchandising for Woolworths Supermarkets but has previously worked in Woolworths’ drinks business. He began his career with the group as a store manger in the Dan Murphy’s network at age 19. Donohue then progressed into senior buying, merchandising and marketing roles in Woolworths’ drinks business.
Chief Executive Officer of the Woolworths Group, Brad Banducci, said Donohue re-joins the drinks business after spending five years rebuilding the group’s buying and merchandising capabilities.
“He’s been instrumental in delivering our Woolworths Supermarkets pricing and range strategy as well as transforming our supplier engagement program,” Banducci said.
Endeavour Drinks includes Dan Murphy’s, BWS, Cellarmasters, Langton’s and Pinnacle Drinks.
Banducci thanked Martin Smith for his contribution to Endeavour Drink.
“Martin and the Endeavour Drinks team have helped build the leading business we have today,” Banducci said.
