Food Recall: Kraft Braised Steak
Kraft Foods Limited is conducting a voluntary food recall of the below products as a precautionary health measure. This recall is being made because some of the products have been found to contain small pieces of rigid, blue plastic which originated from the manufacturing process.
KRAFT Braised Steak and Onions – 95g, 185g, 340g, 410g
KRAFT Braised Steak and Mushroom – 410g
KRAFT Braised Steak and Vegetables – 410g
Best before dates: 06 AUG ’10 – 10 JUL ’11 inclusive
Australian Distribution: National
Overseas Distribution: Nil
Reason for Recall: Foreign matter – rigid, blue plastic
The recall applies only to the above products and best before dates, consumers should not consume these products.
Consumers who have purchased the above products are requested to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

I would like to know if you are going to manufacture Braised Steak and Onions again after its recall. My family and friends were lovers of this – easy meal when were in a hurry and even used to take away with us when we went camping-ideal snack for the kids and adults alike. Great in a jaffle with mashed potato and peas on the plate. None of the other brands come close!

I agree with Cathy Cooper. I hope you start making braised steak and onions soon. I grew up with this and it’s true; none of the other brands come close to Kraft re taste and texture. They’re more like soup.

Hi I totally agree with Cathy Cooper about the Braised Steak and Onions, I grew up with it also, plus what about the spagetti and meatballs. These both are great when you are just after a easy meal etc.

Please please bring back the Kraft Braised Steak & Onions. My family have a famous rice recipe that is totally delicious and only works with the Kraft one. Agree the other brands are awful & full of fat and jelly texture. The family would luv to have it back………..
I believe the reason for taking Braised steak and onion off the shelf are fabricated reasons…How long was Peanut Butter off the shelves? Not long..Fess up Kraft it’s Un-Australian! Next will be Vegemite..Where I live in Dandenong I find alot of the products I purchased for years at the major food chains are disappearing and i have to assimilate to the taste buds of immigrants…
I emailed Kraft and a Mr Hui from the Consumer Advisory Team emailed me back saying braised steak and onion were recalled due to declining sales the email did not mention anything about Foreign matter or rigid, blue plastic.
I have emailed ACA and Today Tonight and asked them to investigate the matter further…

it was comfort food
I loved the most.

where did it go?

I just spoke to a lady from Kraft this morning and she told me they stopped making it 2 years ago and have no intention of ever producing it again. SAD, I loved the stuff.
How can Kraft stop supplying us loyal custormers with one of our favorite products our mornings just are not the same and at work every person agrees and wants the Braised steak and onions back!!!!
We want a Royal Comision held into this!!

Aldi stores now have a Braised Steak and Onions of their own.
It’s called Corale Braised Steak and Onions and tastes about 98% like Kraft’s product. So – even though Kraft have abandoned their Braised Steak and Onion lovers – there’s now a super cheap alternative!

I demand that Kraft bring back Braised Steak and Onions. It is simply a matter of human rights. It is an essential food group.
Kraft please bring back Braised Steak and Onions! Your customers need you! Sometimes the less profitable items with history make a company
I agree that other braised steak and onions taste awful. I have also grown up with Kraft Braised Steak and Onions and so have my children and if you don’t bring it back we are all going to die.
Very hard to get by without Kraft Braised steak& onions been a standard favourite in this family forever, sadly missed
