All the way from NZ, The Apple Press’s newest Apple Juice is now available in Australia

The Apple Press is a New Zealander company based in Hawke’s Bay. They are on a mission to bring what they described as ‘the world’s best apple juice from the world’s best apples’.

The process involves hand-picking apples and then cold-pressing them just once to capture the pure apples’ flavours and aromas, and then placed in a bottle. The juices do not contain any water, preservatives and no added sugar. The Apple Press is so proud about their apples, that they can trace them back to their original orchard home.

Ross Beaton, the founder of The Apple Press. He claims to have planted 8,484 apple trees with his two brothers back in 1984.

However, some apples with blemishes, scratches and sunburns do not make it into the crates, meaning about 13,000 tonnes of ‘cosmetically challenged’ apples were not being used each year. Something had to be done.

“Whilst not all of the wasted apples looked good, they all had the same crisp texture and were bursting with flavour,” said Ross.

“I wanted to do something meaningful with that fruit – something that meant we weren’t literally wasting great fruit and so The Apple Press juices were born.” he added.

Ross joined forces with local food innovation specialist Sally Gallagher and together, they spent the last six years developing and honing The Apple Press and its juicy offering. Following its official launch in New Zealand 15 months ago, the pair are not introducing Aussies to what they believe to be ‘the best apple juice in the world’.
