OzHarvest shouts lunch, fights hunger

Food rescue charity OzHarvest has announced a new one-day intiative, Shout Lunch, Fight Hunger, encouraging Australians on May 20th to donate the cost of their normal lunch and bring a packed lunch instead. The charity is encouraging workplaces to get together on Friday May 20, bring a plate to work and donate the money saved to helping the hungry in Australia. OzHarvest’s Feed Sydney brings diners in droves

The Feed Sydney campaign, created by OzHarvest’s Ronni Kahn and John Dee of action group Do Something, has brought diners to Sydney’s restaurants in the name of charity. The campaign, which was launched on Tuesday 1 June by OzHarvest’s patron Thérèse Rein, aims to provide 250,000 meals over winter to those in need. Food distributor receives acclaim as Australia’s Local Hero

The Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Senator Chris Evans, has congratulated Australia’s 2010 Local Hero – New South Wales OzHarvest founder Ronni Kahn.
