US and China seek approval to export apples and stonefruit to Australia
The USA and China have recently applied to export apples and stonefruit into Australia. Biosecurity Australia has now begun their risk assessment into the products to determine whether or not they will allow the two countries to import the products to Australia.
Local growers have made clear their concern that allowing the imports will result in new pests and diseases being brought into the country. Furthermore, the impact of new competition on farmers could be substantial in some cases and cost pressures would be expected to mount on local growers already hurting from the impact of the drought.

Since China is a major trading partner and they import Billions of Dollars worth of minerals i.e. iron ore, coal, nickel, bauxite, uranium etc. I’m quite sure they won’t give the communists as much trouble to get the permit to sell fruits here in Oz as much as they gave the Philippines for more than 12 yrs just to sell bananas at more competitive prices.
It’s high time we convert all fruit plantations into dairy farms so we can export more dairy products to the rest of the world where we have a comparative advantage instead of trying in vain to prop up inefficient farmers who are making our noses bleed with their overly inflated prices.
Some one has noted me as a Supporter of Importing Fruit into Australia. I DO NOT SUPPORT THIS IMPORTING OF FRUIT INTO AUSTRALIA. I am SURE that we as Aussies can Produce ALL the Fruit and Vegs to FEED ALL People who live in Australia.
It APPEARS that the Goverment wnt to get us in the Position where they can Submit us ALL Where we Cnnot afford to Live as Normal People should be allowed to Live
