ISS Group Limited has announced it has been awarded a contract for “Provision of a Real Time Integrated Plant Reporting Solution” by Mars SnackFood Ballarat operations, a subsidiary of Mars Inc – one of the world’s largest fully-integrated food & beverage corporations.

ISS Group provides software solutions to engineering, mining and manufacturing companies. Their client base currently includes blue chip companies BHP Billiton, Woodside and Rio Tinto but this deal represents their first contract with a major food and beverage company.

The contract involves the use of ISS Group’s flagship product, BabelFish, which is an interface through which companies can aggregate their many disparate real-time systems to provide a single holistic view of their complex processes and operations.
Grant Eggleton, Global Business Development Manager for ISS Group, believes the deal represents a significant milestone for the company.”We are delighted with the award of a contract from such a major global food manufacturing organisation,” he said. “It is a very significant addition to our traditional resource based markets. It demonstrates the versatility of BabelFish in addressing information management requirements in other verticals.”

Shane Attwell, Managing Director of ISS Group, added that the company has been attempting to become more involved in the manufacturing industry. “We have been marketing this new area to assess the viability and potential for our products in the manufacturing verticals. An order with such a major food group confirms that this segment is a significant global expansion opportunity for the Group.”

“This is a strategic extension of BabelFish into the complex data management faced by major high volume manufacturing organisations,” he concluded.
