ALDI gets new Managing Director
Discount giant Aldi has named a new managing director for its business in Australia.
The retailer, which runs 230 stores in Australia, has promoted buying MD Tom Daunt to head up its local operations in the country.
Daunt replaces Michael Kloeters, who has been appointed to Aldi’s international supervisory board.
“I’m extremely proud of what we’ve achieved in the past nine years,” Kloeters told The Australian. “We have changed the grocery retail landscape, introducing greater transparency and increased competition which didn’t exist prior to our arrival in Australia, ultimately driving lower prices to benefit all consumers.”
Daunt said that Aldi was committed to the Australian Market, and that business operations would continue as normal during the changeover.
