Australian pizza chain La Porchetta has announced the launch of a branded iPhone app, created by software development company itakeaway, as well as a multi-platform launch on itakeaway’s own apps.

Using itakeaway’s technology, La Porchetta will be rolling out the system through more than 70 La Porchetta locations, in both Australia and New Zealand, to increase ordering and
efficiency.

In addition to its own branded iPhone app, launching April 1st, La Porchetta will incorporate the itakeaway technology into their website. For iPod Touch and iPad users, La Porchetta will be included in the restaurants available for ordering using the itakeaway app, available from the Apple App store. An Android itakeaway app is in final testing and expected to launch this week in the Android Marketplace.

Users will be able to order from La Porchetta’s full menu for pickup (and delivery, at the two La Porchetta stores which offer it), add or remove toppings from pizzas, order half-and-half pizzas and then pay instantly using an eWay payment gateway.

“The itakeaway solution was far superior to anything else we have seen on the market and our family of restaurants demand the very best in everything we do,” said La Porchetta’s CEO, Sara Pantaleo.

“Technology is moving so fast, and itakeaway will be able to deliver a solution which is compatible with the latest trends and devices.”
