The Baskin-Robbins ice-cream franchise, part of the Dunkin’ Brands group, is planning to expand its Australian presence, with ten new stores planned for Western Australia.

The chain celebrated the opening of their 78th store at Canning Vale, West Australia, with an grand opening party on May 14.

“This is an exciting time for Baskin-Robbins in Australia. We see a real potential in this market, and we’re aiming to open as many as 10 stores in the Golden State this year,” said General Manager of Baskin-Robbins Australia, Ian Martin.

“The climate and lifestyle in Western Australia offer the perfect opportunity for a Baskin-Robbins business to thrive.”

The Canning Vale, Perth, store has been operating for one month, and the company said it is proving to be very successful with the local community.

“I’m really pleased with how the business is going so far. It’s a new adventure for us and it’s taken a year to come this far along on the journey – finding the right location for the store and preparing to open,” said Canning Vale franchise owner and former teacher, Gail Bland.

“We wanted to stay local and support Canning Vale. We have always been active members of our community and felt that this was an ideal way in which we could contribute and really give back.”

Baskin-Robbins is the number one franchised ice cream brand around the world with almost 6,400 ice cream shops in 39 countries. There are currently 11 restaurants in WA, including the new Canning Vale store.
