Woolworths launches new ‘ready meals’ range
Woolworths has launched a new ready-to-eat meal range with celebrity fitness trainer, Michelle Bridges.
The new Delicious Nutritious range is created for Australians looking for healthy but quick meals. The meals will be sold in the deli section and include a range of flavour options such as Italian style chicken with whole grain penne and beef and barley casserole with roasted vegetables.
Fitness and health instructor, Michelle Bridges, said she worked closely with Woolworths to create the new range.
“I’m pleases to continue my mission to help busy Australians eat well by providing healthy dishes that are ready to eat in minutes – without compromising on taste,” Bridges said.
More Australians choosing ready-made meals
Woolworths says the number of Australians purchasing ready-made meals is increasing with the supermarket experiencing a 13 per cent growing in the category between 2015-16.
The Delicious Nutritious range was first launched by Woolworths as a frozen meals range in 2015. Since the launch, Woolworths has sold almost one million meals.
The new range comes in 350g servings and will be sold for AUD $7.99 each.
