Gloria Jean’s opens first drive through coffee house
Coffee franchise Gloria Jean’s Coffees (Gloria Jean’s) has opened its first drive through coffee house at North Lakes near Brisbane in Queensland.
Joining a number of other iconic food and beverage outlets at the 5,500-square-metre Lakes Centre development just off the Bruce Highway, Gloria Jean’s said the drive through concept is an “innovative step” for the Company.
It said the rapid growth of the surrounding areas and the needs of early morning commuters heading from the Sunshine Coast into Brisbane were “crucial factors” behind the Company’s choice of location.
“We’re delighted to continue to meet our existing guests’ needs with the new North Lakes location, but also to cater to new guests, particularly people travelling on the highway, by providing them with a quick and convenient yet high-quality coffee experience that we are known for,” said Nabi Saleh, Executive Chairman of Gloria Jean’s.
“We’ve also had a lot of mothers with young children tell us the drive through coffee house is perfect for them, as they can get their coffee quickly and without having to take the kids out of the car,” Mr Saleh said. “We believe the drive through model is one that has a lot of potential for our business going forward,” he said.
The North Lakes store is operated by long-term franchise partner, Daryle Hammerich, along with his wife Leigh, daughter Sarah, son Joe and daughter-in-law Tonia. The store has indoor and outdoor seating available as well as the drive through offering. It joins Gloria Jean’s existing network or 400 coffee houses around Australia.
