Riggs Autopack Depositor streamlines Granny Gothards ice cream production
Riggs Autopack, of Lancashire UK, a market leader in volumetric depositors and filling machines, transfer pumps and conveyor filling lines, has recently installed a depositor for Granny Gothards of Somerset Levels, a traditional ice cream manufacturer.
With demand increasing and a new summer season on the way, Granny Gothards recognised the need to improve their production processes, including the efficient filling of their ice cream product into pots. The current filling process by hand was both time consuming and labour intensive.
While other depositors had failed the task, the Riggs Autopack depositor proved to be extremely effective, quick and accurate and handled the ice cream with large delicate inclusions extremely well, displaying the potted product as if it was filled by hand.
Business owner Amanda Stansfield is very happy with her investment. ” Riggs Autopack worked with us to provide a cost effective solution. They built us a depositor that works perfectly and we can now confidently take on more orders for our small pots due to the extra capacity the depositor has given us. Since using the machine we have been able to supply an independent cinema chain , theatres, private airline catering as well as more retail outlets”.
Not restricted to jar filling of dips, pastes, preserves and condiments, the Riggs Autopack range of semi-automatic and automatic depositors are also suitable for dosing hot & cold liquid, semi-liquid and suspended solid goods. They successfully deposit a wide range of ready meal products such as stews, mashed potato, casseroles and curries, and are able to deposit fragile vegetables and cooked meats in sauce with particulates up to 38mm cubed as standard.
Riggs Autopack is represented in Oceania by HBM Packaging Technologies.
